Hey guys! Coming at you with a food update on Cam. We started at 6 months with a loose version of Baby Led Weaning. I have literally been dreaming of the day I’d be able to steam a sweet potato, dice it up and have my little one gobble it down. Spoiler alert: that did not happen.
We have had success with baby feeders and I’ll take it. My first daughter would not eat anything, like nothing at all. I had to pry her mouth open to even get her eating purées, so the fact that Cam will even take a taste on her own free will is a win to me! Cam does enjoy banana or avocado mashed up in the feeder. If your not familiar, it’s a little silicone pouch with holes that she is able to hold and kind of suck the mashed food out. So far that’s the closest I’ve gotten to her eating “fresh” food that I’ve “made” and I’m totally ok with that. It’s so hard not to fall in to the mom guilt of “oh my goodness she isn’t eating fresh and steamed everything” but mamas she is fed, and most of all she is happy!
As far as baby food goes we are absolutely loving Little Spoon! If you haven’t heard of them, they send out fresh cold-pressed baby food with no preservatives. It actually comes in the cutest little freezer bag with ice packs because it’s THAT FRESH! You can choose from a wide variety and it’s all organic. So far she has not turned down one purée. I love it because I feel like it’s something I could have made myself so there is the fresh factor, plus it’s all organic! I would definitely say give it a try, especially if you don’t have a ton of time to be making baby food or your baby doesn’t like the food your making (this was me). I’ll update again as we start to add in more baby snacks etc! I’d love to hear what your fav snacks and foods for 8+ months are, comment below!
