Spring is here at Southlake Mall in Merrillville, Indiana! Watch the highlights of our shopping day here on Instagram @nikispender!

Spring is one of my favorite times of year! The long Midwest winter is finally over, there are hints of warm weather, and it’s time to get out and about. In Northwest Indiana, Southlake Mall Merrillville is your one stop shop for fashion and fun. Not only are your favorite clothing stores there, but also play areas, family fun, and delicious food options for on-the-go or to sit and enjoy!

The mall is full of fun for all ages. I know shopping is my absolute favorite activity, but there are also other options for youth. There is an Arcade on the lower level outside Macy’s and across for the super fun play area for smaller children. Upstairs you can visit Busy Bees Art & Pottery Studio where they have projects for all ages. Lastly located inside the food court is Funflatables, every kiddos favorite bounce house playland.

My girls are at the age where they like to choose their clothing and I’m loving every minute of it. I grew up going to Southlake Mall with my mom as a child and teen to shop each season, so carrying on this tradition is something I’ve looked forward to. Cami and I headed to the mall for a girls day of shopping to update our wardrobes for Spring. Southlake Mall has a variety of stores our whole family loves to shop at. My favorites are – Dry Goods, American Eagle Outfitters, Forever 21, and Macy’s. I like to shop for the girls at Carter’s, Sketchers, and we find great pieces for the entire family at JCPenney and H&M! Cami even asked to make a stop at Build-a-Bear to snag her kitty a new spring dress.

Beyond clothing there are plenty of options to refresh your home for Spring at Southlake Mall. My favorite spot to shop for all things home is definitely JCPenney. The lower level has great options for bedding, kitchen, home decor, pillows, mattresses, and if you’ve not shopped their curtain selection it’s a must! Macy’s also has home items in store, and Yankee Candle has all your favorite scents of Spring.

Finally, a trip to Southlake Mall isn’t complete without a stop for a bite to eat. Our all time favorite is Coopers Hawk, but when I’m with the girls we stop for a quick snack at Cinnabon, Wetzels Pretzels, Whispers, or the Food Court. The most recent trip Cami and I shared a Cinnabon and the must have raspberry lemonade!
