Mother’s Day Gift Guide – Make Mom’s Day at Southlake Mall

This blog is sponsored by Southlake Mall. All opinions, experiences and images are my own.

Mother’s Day is Sunday May 8, 2022! Whether you are shopping for something big or small, sweet, shiny, or scented Southlake Mall in Merrillville Indiana has it. I spent the day shopping to round up my favorite gift ideas for 2022. Everything I share I either already love, I have it on my wishlist, or I would gift to a loved one!

Yankee Candle was my first stop! I don’t know any mom in my life that wouldn’t love a candle including myself. My favorite scent right now for Spring and heading in to Summer is anything and everything lemon. They also have a great variety of special Mother’s Day candles, plus the option to add a photo or special message to your candle right in-store! Current sales as of 4/29/22 are buy 2 original jars and get 2 free, and a beach-inspired shopping tote filled with top favorites! Just $30 when you spend $30+ at Yankee Candle!

If something personalized is on mom’s wishlist head over to Things Remembered. They have a ton of options from jewelry, to photo frames, jewelry boxes, and a gorgeous family tree. Things Remembered has been my go-to for personalization for years. I ordered all my wedding party gifts there and the quality has always been amazing.

With summer right around the corner, new clothes, swimsuits, pajamas, and sandals are always a fun idea. Southlake Mall has a ton of great clothing stores. My favorites are JCPenney, American Eagle, Dry Goods, Macy’s, and H&M! At the Van’s store you can get mom and her mini’s matching sneakers, Macy’s had some super cute Mommy & Me dresses, and JCPenney has a selection of matching outfits for moms and kiddos! All of these stores also have great fashion jewelry options, I particularly loved the Bijoux Bar brand at JCPenney!

Another favorite of mine is perfume. My all time favorite scent is Fever by Jimmy Choo! You can purchase this at Macy’s as a single bottle, or a great gift set with lotion, etc! Bath & Body Works is also a great option if you are looking for scents, lotions, and soap! They have some of my favorite hand soaps and sanitizers as well! Plus they always seem to running a fabulous sale so it’s easy to stock up.

If you want to treat mom to dinner or a sweet treat my favorite spots at Southlake Mall are Cooper’s Hawk [ also great for gifts if mom loves wine ], Olive Garden, Cajun Boil Bar, Mrs. Fields Cookies, and Cinnabon! Waking up to a Cinnabon on Mother’s Day would be the sweetest wouldn’t it moms?! Mrs. Fields also has great cookies specially made for Mother’s Day that would be great to serve for entertaining as well.

A few other ideas that I know I would love are : jewelry from one of the fabulous jewelry stores like Kay, Zales, or Jared. New sunglasses for summer from the Sunglass Hut located inside the mall and also inside Macy’s. A great handbag from Macy’s or JCPenney. Even new bedding or sheets is a gift that I know I would enjoy, Macy’s has a great selection of home goods, they also had a great sale on luggage if you have a mom that travels for work, or to stow for the next vacation. Camreigh’s suggestion for the day would be to make mom her own bear from her all time fav store Build-a-Bear!

If you aren’t quite sure what mom would love, or you want to treat her to her own day of shopping, gift cards are always a great idea! With so many stores and dining options you are sure to find something that your mom would love. Happy Mother’s Day to all the moms and mother figures out there, I hope you have a very special day!
